2010 AAN Foundation Public Leadership in Neurology Award Recipient - Billy Mclaughlin

The 2010 Public Leadership in Neurology Award recipient is acclaimed musician and DMRF Ambassador, Billy McLaughlin.  McLaughlin will receive this distinguished award at the American Academy of Neurolgy Awards luncheon, April 14, 2010 at the Metro Convention Centre in Toronto

Past awardees and speakers have included Michael J. Fox, Paul Allen, Dame Julie Andrews, Leeza Gibbons, Cuba Gooding, Jr., the Honorable Janet Reno, and others.

As the recipient of the 2010 Public Leadership Award, McLaughlin will deliver the keynote address at the Academy's 2010 Awards Luncheon. It will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2010, at the Metro Toronto Convention Center in Toronto, Ontario. In Billy's honor, the American Academy of Neurology will donate $5,000 to the Dystonia Medical Research Foundation based in Chicago.

 Recognized internationally as an innovative world-class acoustic guitarist, composer, and producer, McLaughlin is a five-time Minnesota Music Award winner with 12 CD releases and Billboard Top-Ten Chart history. The National Association for Campus Activities has awarded him with three National Campus Entertainer of the Year Awards (Jazz) and a Hall of Fame Achievement Award.
