Clinical Trial for Adult Onset Primary Dystonia - Calgary, AB

FR

Do you have or know anyone who has adult-onset dystonia?

Researchers from the Calgary Movement Disorders Clinic need your help! You may be eligible to participate if you are 18 years of age or older. Our goal is to understand the changes and the impact on neuromuscular diseases and adult-onset dystonia.

Note: We are recruiting exclusively patients with idiopathic adult onset dystonia, not secondary forms of dystonia. Please note that to participate in this study, interested patients would need to have at least one in-person visit in Calgary to assess their dystonia.This study is an observational study, which means that participants will not receive any type of treatment for dystonia

This research study involves:
* Study visits before and after botulinum toxin injections
* A total of 2 or 3 in-person study visits (can be modified based on location)
* Assessment of your mood and mental health (online questionnaires)
* 1 session of Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS)
* 1 MRI scan
* A one-time blood sample
