What I Wish People Knew

I wish I could explain how this "Iceberg" disorder affects those diagnosed with it. On the surface I have smiled at people who have asked how I am. My reply, "I am fine thank you, and how are you?"

To look deeper though, I blink continuously because of a minor twitch in on the side of my face. I clench my hands and wiggles my fingers trying to relieve the pins and needs feeling. I have a headache from constant tension in my neck as muscles continue their daily battle for dominance. My back aches from degenerated discs from years of episodes and strain. My left knee painfully click and pops every time I bend to pick up something that has fallen out of my hands because I was unable to clench them. My right knee is becoming sore trying to make up for the lack of strength in my left knee.

All the while, I am fighting the brain fog to remember the name of the kind person who took time to ask me how I was.

I wish there was a way to put that into words.... Much Love To All My Twitchy Family. Jason Young
