Lance Howitt’s 50th Birthday - Support Dystonia Research

In honor of my 50th birthday and in lieu of gifts, my family and I have chosen to direct significant funding towards medical research that focuses on Deep Brain Stimulation (DBS) surgery for the treatment of dystonia. This remarkable surgical approach has been a completely life altering procedure for our youngest 9 year old son Isaac and for my beautiful and loving wife Julie. Funding clinical research on the efficacy of DBS surgery and ensuring that this procedure becomes a more widely accessible standard of care is critical — especially with early intervention for children. We are living proof!

Lead by world-renowned movement disorder specialist, Dr. Alfonso Fasano at Toronto Western Hospital, a research project was established to support improved clinical outcomes for those affected by dystonia, and serves as an important opportunity for enhanced understanding of this rare disease and the phenomenal results when treated with DBS surgery.  Click here to learn more.

I am making a personal appeal to you as my extended family, dearest friends, and closest business colleagues to help make a difference in the lives of others living with dystonia by supporting this important initiative. My family and I have witnessed firsthand the heartbreak of dystonia and the miracles of DBS. Please find it in your heart to make a significant contribution. Our family has committed to matching all your donations raised as part of the campaign, effectively doubling the financial reach we can achieve together.

Please make a donation today and help to support the 50,000 people in Canada, 300,000 in the US, and thousands more around the world who are suffering from dystonia.
